OK here is what I am attempting to do.
I would like to create a DSL distro or Puppy distro that I can put on a Flash card that has one objective. To boot and run a linux slideshow pointed to a windows share.

I think this would be very handy from a geek standpoint. A setup such as this one will allow you to take an old laptop or cheap monitor and turn it into a digital piture frame. I know I could use windows and do this in 2 seconds, but that is overkill and not nearly as stable as a small linux distro would be.

However I am not adept at scripting linux since I work in a Windows shop. Is there something existing that will do this or is there someone out there who can point me in the right direction. I am a little suprised there isnt any Open Source projects out there along these lines. I guess this is the cue for me to get one going.

Thanks for any help with this.
