Hey, I recently discovered that something has gone wrong with my BigPond internet connection. Whenever I dial in and open internet explorer, a message comes up saying something along the lines of "creating of file mapping failed" and won't allow me to use the internet. Any application involving the internet won't open and there's nothing on the error message to say what's causing it. I only have this connection which is my company's and it's very limited, so I really need my other one to work again. Could anyone help me on this? Thanks!

Allo Intern00b and welcome to the Lockergnome forums

I've never come across that error before, so I haven't a clue about it, but I'm sure there's at least 2 technognomes here who do.

I just posted to say 'Welcome' really Wink

Hi InterN00b -

Have you contacted tech support at BigPond? If it's happening with all Internet programs, then it could be a problem with your connection. You may need to check your dial-up settings.

Get ready for the weird Stuff!

In poking around the Internet using "Mamma" search engine, I found
a site that has to do with encoding a form/window.

http://www.codeproject.com/threads/ipc_tute.asp

This has the SAME error you described as part of its process.

Deductive reasoning suggests that It MAY deal with your ISP, and
how it creates a login/authentication dialog box.

The memory files used MAY have become corrupt.
Try uninstalling the software, then re-install it.
If that doesn't work, contact your ISP.

My google found links to script errors in IE - does this describe your problems?

Try using another browser to see if it overcomes the problem. Here's a link to Firegox: http://www.mozilla.com/
