Any one club there selling cost more that the set i had in the 50s wooden shaft.

Played some in High School in the early 50's ( Firestone Country Club ), when i was'nt playing or practicing base ball ( no.1 love ),or working, played some in the 60's.

Started watching again when Verplank came up he was going to be what Tiger is till he hurt his back, been watch again when Tiger came up.

I'm lucky the WIFE is into sports she watchs with me if i'm busy she keeps me up dated, she plays softball, and bowls.

Can you rephrase this in English?

Older clubs may be worth something as collector's items but not as playable sets.

Something from the '50's is probably not worth much.

I was playing with some strangers in Phoenix and I use an old Wilson Putter from the 50's that my Uncle gave me. One of the guys offered me one hundred dollars for it on the spot without even using it. I declined as I thought if this guy will give me 100 it must be worth more. I still have it and use it when I can-not too often though. I may take Golf up actively next year if I am healthier by then.

Have you priced new putters recently?

Putters will hold their age much longer than any other club.

If he offered to trade it for a new 3 ball brand name putter I'd take him up on it.

I like the putter and it does have sentimental value. It is a Wilson Staff. This was in 1984 I believe.

I'll do what I can.

This is 2006, not 1956. Everything is more expensive. 1956 houses are worth more but 1956 toasters are not.

Your 1956 putter is not old enough to be a collector's item but it is not new enough to be worth anything - give it another 50 years and it may be a valuable collector's antique.

You probably could have bought an entire set of clubs in 1956 for $100 but you can't buy a single club for that today.

The Clubs I use cost over $600.00 in 1976. Today a Good driver goes for close to that. My clubs are Wilson 1200 LT's not an off brand either. A collectible is a collectible to someone that wants it. Someone's trash is another's gold. Wink
