A million flee as the worst typhoon in decades batters China

More than 1.3 million people were evacuated from their homes yesterday as China's strongest typhoon in 50 years struck its south-eastern coast.

A state of emergency was declared as storm surges battered houses and flooded streets when the 130 mph Typhoon Saomai made landfall in Zhejiang province.

Saomai approached the coast as a maximum category-five "super" typhoon


These "super" typhoons [hurricanes] are more frequent in these days of global warming.

Yep... I reckon they're gonna get a lot worse before they start getting better Sad, whatever 'better' is... Laughing...
