Call of duty 2 problems on 8600 gt

Hi a have a home computer with nvidia 8600 gt 256 mb and a 2.2 dual core procesor + 1gb ram and i have a big problem. I wanted to ran a cod2 on it but all i get is a color on the screen(its gray or something) but there are some objects for the game to but there is no picture to play. I dont know what is it but i hope if there is some on who can help me.

First thing i'd try is reinstalling the game and then installing the latest patch.
