Hello jgransinger and welcome to Lockergnome!
Catalyst 5.13 drivers can be found here
You also might want to install the latest drivers for your sound card. |

This is just a little topic to help people having problems running Call of Duty 2.
1 - You get the "Your video card or driver does not support alpha blending " or "dynamic lighting" etc.. error message when trying the run the game.
This means that your graphics card drivers may need updating or that your graphics card needs upgrading.
Having this problem too:
Can you tell me how I would know if card needs upgrading? I've downloaded new driver from nVidia site but it would not launch due to hardware issue.
My card is "NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400. Will that do the job? Is there something I'm missing?
Thanks |

Hello cams and welcome to Lockergnome!
The GeForce2 Ultra card is on the supported graphics card list but the MX isn't.
Try going to this site, it will scan your computer for compatibility with the game.
When you installed the new drivers did you uninstall the existing ones?
Also try updating your sounds card drivers as well, close all unnecessary background tasks and try lowering your desktop to 800x600 32bit colour before running the game. |

Hello, I recently just got the CoD2 COLLECTOR'S EDITION for christmas.
I needed a new graphics card, so i bought a GeForce FX 5500.(I was on a budget.)
I tried the site above(this explains all the ^^ and |||). It said I was able to run the game.
Although, whenever I put my DISC ONE of CALL OF DUTY COLLECTOR'S EDITION the little disc appears next to my cursor. It flashes on and off, but no Auto-Setup, I know how to disable the Auto-Setup, and it is currently enabled. I checked My Computer and it shows that my F: Drive, my E: Drive was struck by lightning and won't work, has nothing inside of the Drive. I tried putting the disc in my roomates computer, it works fine. I have a Pentium 4 1.9GHz Processor, nVidia GeForce FX 5500(128), and 256 MB RAM. My roomates computer uses a Pentium 3.0 GHz Processor, Intel Chipset Graphics card(128 MB), 256 MB RAM. It works just fine on his computer, but the setup doesn't show up on my own computer. Please help me with whatever my problem is.
plz and ty

Hello StrYkeR and welcome to Lockergnome!
This could be an incompatibility between the DVD drive and the copy protection on the DVD. Try a firmware update, you can get these updates from the manufacturers website. |

Hello lovejoy and welcome to Lockergnome!
I don't see any problem with running it on a Celeron.
First thing to try is updating your hardware drivers, video, sound and motherboard.
Reinstalling DirectX is another thing to try. |

Hello eggeh and welcome to Lockergnome!
Do you get any error messages?
Are there any error messages in the application and system logs?
Have you updated your hardware drivers? |

| Yeah, ive done graphics card drivers, no more drivers for sound card, no error logs apart from when it reboots it says its recovered from serious error, I'll need to do campaign again so i can see what its actually caused by, Another thing it does when it crashes is corrupts my save file which is really annoying me :\ |

I just got Call of Duty 2 for christmas as well but When I load the game, the intro is all black, no video just sound. The same goes for all the intro videos and things for the game. The game itself works fine and I haven't been given any error messages. Any Ideas? I'm using an 128 Mb ATI All In Wonder 9600 XT if that helps.
EDIT:
In the middle of the the russian "Repairing the wires" mission it just crashed. |

I just got COD2 Collector's ed. I ran the link to see if my computer could run the game. I passed. My problem is the intro. video's are all black, I can hear the sound, when I get to the main menu I start the game, no intro. again, just as I start the mission I see snow then the game crashes. I get an error message "recursive error after : Direct3DDevice9 present failed: driver.
My card is the ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 IGP.
Any help would be great. |

It took me about 4 hours, but I was able to update. ATI has problems and can't get there new driver to work on notebooks  , so I was getting a INF error, or something. I searched and found a site that had a program that let me update to the desktop driver. Thanks for the help, this site got me to where I needed to be, so thanks. |
