My desktop computer gets stuck on acquiring network address. I have tried uninstalling it and installing it but it has the same problem. The BT voyager 1055 USB adaptor has been working on the desktop before but then it got broken and I bought a new one it just didn’t work any more. When I tried the adaptor on my laptop it works fine with no problems.

(I am using the BT voyager 2110 router)

Does any one have any suggestions on how to solve this matter?

Start/run type in services.msc
find DHCP client make sure the service it set up to start automatically.

If that doesn't work, try resetting your router.

Hello,

Have you tried using a different brand of network adapter with your computer?

Does this desktop go online with the cable plugged into the router? If so, make sure the cable is unplugged and try connecting with the wireless USB adapter again. If that still fails, plug it into the laptop again and see what IP address it has. Go into the Network Details (double click on the LAN icon and go to Support tab) and jot down the information. Plug the USB adapter back to the desktop and try using a static IP to see if it will pick up a connection.
