So I rummaged through my house and gathered up some computer parts I had lying around so I could build a new computer for Ubuntu. Got everything assembled, heres a quick parts breakdown;
- old mid tower with 430 watt ps
- AMD 3200 64 bit proccesor
- FIC k8 800t motherboard
- Nvidia graphics card
- 320 gb SATA hd (new)
- Multiple DVD burner (+,-,ram and rom) also new.
Now heres my big problem. Everything is connected properly, because I can get into my BIOS screen. From there I can see my new HD and my new Burner. So I set my boot order to start with the CD drive, then HD. But when I reboot, The command line says, "Booting From CD..." It stays like that for a second and then says, "Non system disk, please insert and press any key"
The distro of ubuntu is right from them, and I've tried a couple of disks that I know to be bootable, and I get the same message everytime. Seems to me like the problem is the CD drive, but it's brand new...
Any suggestions?
