In a curio shop in L.A. a man sees a bronze statue of a rat which he wants for a joke gift. He asks the price and the owner says, "$12.00 for the rat and $10.00 for the story." The man says, "I'll take the rat and you keep the story." He pays and takes the rat.
Walking past buildings, alleys and sewers he notices rats beginning to follow. The herd grows huge and he walks faster and faster, trying to get away from them. Finally he throws the bronze rat into the bay. Millions of rats follow the bronze rat into the bay and disappear.
He goes back into the curio shop and the owner says, "Ah, you've come back for the rest of the story!"
"Nope, I've come back to see if you have any bronze crooked politicians and crooked lawyers."
