Currently I'm using both Type-pad and Blogger, and while both have their strengths, both also have their weaknesses. My biggest problem is that the host of my website doesn't support blogging software for those in my price range (yes, I'm cheap and suffering for being so), so I'm limited to blogs that allow me to host my blog on their servers. I did try the 30 day trial of the Lockergnome Blogging Network, but as it was very similar to Type-pad, but more expensive, I didn't go that route.
So what is your favorite blogging software? What have been your experiences with the different offerings out there?

I've just been using the tools that Blogger.com gives me. Haven't really looked into the other stuff out there yet. I guess that's because I'm still pretty new to this stuff.

I used MT for a very long time until it became UN-free Smile I signed up for the big switch at Expression Engine and I like it just fine. There's a bit of code difference and I figure as soon as I slow down a little bit I'll figure out just how to customize it the way I want.

I have never used w.blogger, but several of the people who post to the newsletters do, and I believe Chris has checked it out as well, so I thought I'd mention it here for anyone who might be interested. It looks like a pretty decent app. Unfortunately, it's only available for Windows, and I usually blog from Linux...but the next time I'm booted into XP I may download it and see what it's all about.

It looks like Mozilla has updated their RSS reader for Moz and Firefox. It's called Sage, and it looks cool and displays nicely in the sidebar.

I use Wordpress as the backend for my blog, with w.bloggar to connect to it.

I'm very happy with it.

(just gotta know a bit about the history of wordpress to know why setting w.bloggar to use 'b2' works Wink)

If you don't want to be "limited" in the way a lot of blogging software does, you can try this: http://lightphpcms.sourceforge.net/cms.php/
