Hmmmm, I find myself in strong disagreement with some of it. A blog is NOT the equivalent of a diary kept between the mattresses. I keep a paper journal and I would be furious if I caught someone reading it. I also keep a private blog and would be angry if it got released to the public. (Not furious simply because I don't post much to it.) I keep a public blog that I post to occassionally and hope that someone will read it. After all, that's why it's public.

The author also says you shouldn't read it if the writer doesn't want you to and I couldn't disagree more strongly. I understand his point but come on, if you published a book, you wouldn't be allowed to specify which readers could buy it. If you don't wish for someone to read your thoughts DON'T put them in a public place. That would include public blogs, this forum (and others like it), restroom walls, and all other places you don't own/control.

restroom walls

What I write there I have a reasonable expectation that only other men will read. Is that wrong?

Wrong? No.
Incorrect assumption? Probably.
Of course, there's transvestites to consider but even more likely is the instance where a group of women just gives up on the hour-long wait for the ladies room and marches right into the men's room! Very Happy Yep. Been there. Done that. Laughing
