| I am interested in setting up a blog and am confused about what software program to use. Would like the program to have enough in it so that I can expand the functionality of the blog as time goes on or built in a complex functionality from the beginning.
Am considering Userland. One of the things tht I like about it is that you can download it to your computer and work on it without an internet connection. Then upload your work. Is this new user friendly? What are the inherent problems with it?
Any other suggestions?

| I can't comment on Userland, but I've used Movable Type a few times. It seems pretty nice. Regardless of what you use, you can always type your post in a word processer and save it locally. Then post it in your blog when you are ready.
My web host is now offering MT along with hosting. With their cheapest account, if you pay for a year a time, the discount they get you is equal to the cost of MT unlimited for a year through them. This may be a good way to get started. If you are intrested in that, send me an e-mail and I'll get you in touch with them.

| One factor in your decision is whether you want to host it on your own web space or have it hosted by someone else. |
