BATTLEField 2142 Help.. Please! :o)

Have been playing BF 2 for a couple of years now. All of a sudden now when I start the game it crashes to desktop just after the splash screen. I found a fix for BF2 which cleared up that issue but now I get to the point where I have to find servers on the net to play on and then after a long pause it crashes to desktop. So.. please help. I've tried to locate threads on this forum but I can't, must be not doing something correctly.

Please help..

have you tried updating Punk Buster. I had similar problem and had to update PB Used there setup program and seemed to fix mine.

Have you recently updated your firewall? as firewalls have a habit of blocking it.

HI Guys.

First I must thank you for replying with ideas as to what the problem might be. I've done what you have sudjest already and nope nothing helped. I've read other post from various pages and finially I got it. I had to rename and evertually delet the BF2 folder in My Documents. Once I done that I had to start BF2 again and then "Retrieve Account" then everything is fixed. I guess some how everything in the BF2 forlder got corrupted some how. Any how it's fixed thanks again guys. OH.. and I realize that I post this under the wrong game.. I should have used BF2 Not BF2142.. sorry bout that. Any how.. AGain.. Thanks.
