| [SIZE=7]I have a Dell 8400 3.2. I tried upgrading my video card from a Ati 300 agp card to a Ati 9800pro 256mb. The problem is the 9800 card doesn't seem to fit in the slot just right. I was wondering if I have the right motherboard or slot.
Could you give me more information on this? Thanks

| No you are trying to install an AGP card in a PCI-E X16 slot, they look very similar but they are not the same, you need to upgrade to a video card that says it is for PCI express. By the way your computer shipped with an ATI X300 PCI-E (express) video card

Hello,
You can find a diagram of how each AGP port looks like over here and for PCI-express over here

In order to upgrade you must choose an ATI graphics card that begins with an X, such as X600 or X800 or X850. If you can afford it, an X800 XL model would be a big improvement on your original X300.
Shop around on www.newegg.com for a good buy.
