This situation has me puzzled. I have four email accounts ... my email (Eudora) checks them all simultaneously. Three of them log in and do everything immediately. The fourth one just sits there waiting to log in. And the delay (I have timed it repeatedly with a stop watch) is always exactly 80 seconds. Does anyone have any idea what would cause this mathematically precise delay .. every time. ... If I go to that account directly by dialup, the login is normal. The problem only shows when logging in by the internet.

What do you mean by that, exactly? If Eudora using POP3 or IMAP? At first blush, I suspect the delay is an defensive measure by your ISP to fend off dictionary attacks.

Hello,

Which operating system and version of Qualcomm Eudora are you using, and are the email accounts you are checking all with the same provider?
