| You can install Avast back in that case...
Try asking in the Windows forum to see if they can help you track down what's slowing the computer down.

If there were infected entries found, then there's still something dormant there. Do you remember what they were?
If you still want to continue working on this, we can try running more scans. I just need to find out what was found earlier by the scanner. |

Oh yes i bet there still are many things lingering in my laptop...
Of course I would still want to scan it if you're still willing to help...I'm just afraid I've taken up too much of your time...
I can't remember what Uniblue scanned..Maybe I can do it again and see if i can get a report for u to see...
Sad to say..the very same thing seems to be hitting my PC too..so strange~~y does it seem like my anti-virus is not working? I'd have to start another thread again...feel so guilty yet helpless~~~ |

I did several scans however I can't get a plain text report from Uniblue so I had to cap them...I PDFed it together with the logs since I did not get the correct format of report from Kaspersky or something..appears very messy when i pasted it here..

I do hope you won't mind me troubling you all the time...coz i think it's alot of work for your side...No hurry..
Hundreds of thanks~ |

Did you check the option to remove the infected entries? They all seem to be low level threats....
Do you use a proxy to connect to the internet?
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = 165.21.83.252:8080 |

Uniblue only gave 20 free removals....As for Kaspersky? I don't remember I could remove any threats...
Anyway...I no longer use a proxy server to connect...i used to.. 8080..but the internet service provider told me not to...so i didn't check the option anymore... |

I think it's Uniblue Spyware Scanner. The one you attached to YouSendIt. I see there was a checkbox to remove the infections found.
You may run HijackThis. Then check the following box:
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = 165.21.83.252:8080
Click on Fix checked. |

Hihi Kevin
I've fixed that R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = 165.21.83.252:8080 ..but CPU usage is still very volatile..like 15%> 99% when I'm doing nothing..guess the bad stuff's still lurking around...but com is not as laggy as before i fixed it...or is it just psychological? hehe..i hope not..
Anyway, I'm kinda like trying anything now...I'm installing the trial version of Kaspersky..just to see if it'll help...Will keep u posted... |

Removing those infections may help with the speed, but I doubt that proxy entry will. It's only useful for connecting to the internet (if needed).
Let us know if Kaspersky found anything. |

Hello Kevin
I can't install because it says i still have AVG 8 in my lappie but I didn't install AVG...and I checked...no signs of AVG software on the surface..not sure how else to delete whatever traces of AVG left in my lappie..
On the other hand, I installed and used Kaspersky on my other computer...Ran a scan and there were several stuff they advised to remove... But i can't seem to remove one... flash9e.ocx in C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash...the rest were java.exe in systems folder..and java.exe in javafolder..
Thanks alot for helping~~ |

Just to confirm it's not there at all (maybe a corrupt initial install), take a look here and try to follow the instructions. |

Now that it's back..I'm here to thank you Kevin...Really appreciate all those relentless efforts trying to help me diagnose and repair the lappie...feels great to know someone so helpful exists over the Internet.... |

Had a feeling it wasn't malware related after all those unsuccessful scans
Glad you got the issue resolved now. |
